Releases of the skyportalai package: the Python SDK, the skyportalai CLI and the observability agent. Upgrading from 0.2 or earlier? Read Upgrading to 0.3.

0.3.1 (September 29, 2026)

  • Agent token handoff. When SARA creates an agent token for a private cluster, the interactive terminal collects it once and keeps it in memory only. It shows your current kubectl context and, if you agree, creates the skyportalai-agent-token Secret in the skyportal namespace and labels that namespace for privileged Pod Security. Then it offers the Helm install. If you decline, or kubectl fails, it prints the token once with the commands to run yourself. See In-cluster agent.
  • /namespace chooses the Kubernetes namespaces SARA may use on a selected cluster, and /server <cluster> now lists the cluster's namespaces. The prompt and /status show the scope per cluster, and a message isn't sent while a selected cluster has no namespace.
  • Higher minimum dependency versions: click 8.5.0, prompt-toolkit 3.0.53, pydantic 2.13.5 and, with the agent extra, wandb 0.30.0.

0.3.0 (September 23, 2026)

  • Breaking: the SKYPORTAL_* environment variables are ignored, and a leftover SKYPORTAL_BASE_URL is an error. Use the SKYPORTALAI_* names.
  • Breaking: the skyportal import package is removed. Import skyportalai.
  • Kubernetes monitoring in the agent: SKYPORTALAI_AGENT_ROLE selects experiments (the default), cluster (read-only kubectl) or node (host CPU, memory, disk and GPU). The Helm chart turns them on with kubernetes.enabled.
  • File uploads: /upload and drag-and-drop attach logs, CSV, JSON, YAML and images to a chat.
  • The agent identifies itself as skyportalai-agent/<version>.

0.2.2 (September 1, 2026)

  • skyportalai login and /login finish in the browser: confirm the code and the terminal saves the credential.
  • logout works even when the saved credential belongs to another deployment or is damaged.
  • Mismatch messages name both URLs, and skyportal.ai and app.skyportal.ai are treated as the same host.
  • login and github-token set show the target before asking for a secret, and warn when it is a local address.

0.2.1 (September 1, 2026)

  • ./run.sh works again from a fresh clone. This only affects installs from source.

0.2.0 (August 31, 2026)

  • Breaking: one skyportalai command replaces skyportal. With no arguments it opens the interactive terminal.
  • skyportal-agent is renamed skyportalai-agent.
  • The configuration directory moves to ~/.skyportalai, and an existing ~/.skyportal is moved there automatically.
  • The SKYPORTAL_* variables and import skyportal keep working with a deprecation warning. They were removed in 0.3.0.

0.1.1 (August 31, 2026)

  • First release on PyPI: the Skyportal SDK client with chat, Ansible and Kubernetes resources, the CLIs, and the optional agent extra. Requires Python 3.11 or newer.
